YOUNG ADULTS

Play Tech Australia’s young adult program is all about connection, creativity, and being yourself.

Designed for autistic and neurodiverse young people aged 18 – 24 years, our sessions give you a relaxed, supportive space to build social skills while exploring tech in ways that actually interest you.

There’s no rigid structure here — you get to lead the way. Our trained facilitators and mentors are there to support you as you dive into projects, games, or ideas you’re genuinely into.

Whether you’re looking to meet like-minded people, grow your confidence, or just have a place where you feel comfortable, this is a space where you can come out of your shell at your own pace.

We run age-based sessions in Mango Hill and Murrumba Downs (The Shed), and — so you can find a group that feels right for you.

NDIS funding is available, with no out-of-pocket costs. Sessions can be claimed under CB9 ‘Increased Social & Community Participation’ or CORE supports, helping you work toward goals like communication, social connection, independence, and everyday life skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who runs the sessions? What qualifications do they hold?

All of our facilitators and mentors are industry professionals and hold blue cards. They have all completed NDIS Worker Orientation training, too! And love to share their knowledge and show interest in what the kids are into.

  • Can I use NDIS funding for the sessions?

Yes, absolutely! Many parents use their NDIS plans to cover the cost of sessions as it aligns to their children’s goals.

  • Do parents need to stay for the duration of the session?

No, parents do not need to stay for the 2-hour sessions. In fact, we encourage that you don’t. Our sessions are a great opportunity for children to develop their social skills with their peers in a safe and supportive environment. Not to mention, many parents report back that they love the “me” time knowing their kids are in good hands!
